This garden was designed by a landscape architect we enjoy working with. We were delighted to construct this technically challenging project – every fraction inch was planned to make this modern garden design come to life. The client wanted a garden with very clean lines and "perfect workmanship" to enjoy time at home with their young family.
We had to remove the existing vinyl liner pool and construct a new gray bottom concrete pool. We recommended they use pre-cast concrete slabs in place of poured concrete as the paving product after meeting with the client and the architect to maintain the modern garden feel that concrete provides without the risk of future cracks in the proposed poured concrete slab.
The project had its challenges, we had to access the property using the next door neighbors driveway + backyard and only had 8 weeks to complete the project from demolition to completion while the neighbor was at their cottage for the summer! We used a large suction device to place the three hundred pound slabs to eliminate any damage to the concrete edges and maintain perfect lines and slope.
The outdoor kitchen is constructed of clear cedar with a hand made concrete countertop and is equipped with a large grill, a refrigerator, wine cooler, and custom under counter cabinets. A large Limestone feature wall and a cedar pergola create a distinct space for the outdoor kitchen.
The wood gates and panels were all constructed in our wood shop of clear cedar in accordance to the stringent details provided. The pool cabana holds the pool equipment and includes a finished change room.
The garden was nicely detailed with furnishings, landscape lighting, and an outdoor audio system. The garden is a true entertaining space with an absolute peaceful feeling. |
