Tucked away on the edge of Lake Scugog lies a constructed haven created to be both visually breath taking and naturally soothing. This Scugog project uses visual nuances as well as pragmatic planning to meld both modern ideas and formal sensibilities.

A vanishing edge pool is perched on a hill overlooking the expanse of Lake Scugog. This double vanishing edged pool combines a stunning six foot water wall on the lower side to create an accent and an attached spa makes this accessible and useable in colder winter months. Fencing was intentionally designed to be invisible from porch deck landing and lighting was used to capitalize and visually expand the space both inside and out due to large windows on the surrounding house. The intentional forethought of the lighting also creates a visual spectacle at night.

A large gazebo was installed to create an entertaining area that contains a wood burning fire adding both warmth and light. Custom fences and arbour were used to sculpt out a dramatic entrance and front landscaping was designed to enhance the original architecture of the house creating a formal appeal. Hedging and square cut stone were installed to highlight a circular pool and planting in the front of the residence add to the traditional and formal feel of the property. Added to the entranceway are hedges and large grand flagstone and circular stone inlay to mirror the shapes of the water feature.
