The owners of this weekend home requested a true retreat.
A gunite free form pool with a gray bottom is the central element. An adjacent in-ground spa compliments with all-season use. Spacious multi-level, mega flagstone patios flank the pool. Stone facing of the multi-level pool edge adds interest and detail. Large rockery stone placed in the gardens were native to the property.
A spacious screened cedar gazebo and remarkable pool cabana bring all the amenities of entertaining outside. Repetitive and large-scale plantings seamlessly merge the new plant material into the existing landscaped areas. Landscape lighting and a state-of-the-art outdoor audio system complete this extraordinary weekend retreat.
The Beach Gardener received the Casey Van Maris Award, for this garden in 2003, for best overall landscape design and construction. It was featured in the Landscape Trades Magazine, Beach Metro News, and the Toronto Star Newspaper.
